During spring quarter the Wilbur and Stern student residences began composting their bathroom paper towels and kitchenette scraps. To measure waste diversion, student interns, along with residents, conducted waste audits before and after implementation; these showed a 25% reduction in landfill waste. Residential & Dining Enterprises Student Housing building managers and custodians have built composting collection into normal operations and are continuing to educate residents about how to sort their waste.
