Stanford University was presented the 2015 Digie Award for Most Intelligent College Campus at the Intelligent Buildings Conference in San Antonio. Presented by Realcomm, the Commercial Real Estate Digital Innovation, or Digie, Award recognizes companies, real estate projects, technologies, and people that have gone above and beyond to positively impact the real estate management industry through the use of technology, automation, and innovation.

Stanford received this year’s award for a robust portfolio of achievements, including:

  • LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance Platinum status for high performance in energy and water consumption in the Yang & Yamazaki Environment and Energy Building
  • Innovative design of intuitive dashboards for energy and sustainability monitoring
  • Hyper-secure IT infrastructure for support of facility automation

Over 200 buildings are equipped with building automation systems, 42 of which have advanced direct digital controls to the zone level. In the coming years, Stanford will seek to streamline systems even further through the Utility Metering, Billing, and Reporting System.
