Residential & Dining Enterprises Stanford Dining launched a Know Your Food series focused on sustainable and nutritious food this past spring. The series was hosted at the chef’s table in Arrillaga Family Dining Commons and was open to the entire Stanford community. The events allowed the community to dive deeper into topics related to sustainability and nutrition with experts. The series included conversations with book authors, an organic lentil farmer, a sourdough bread baker, a journalist, an Alaskan fisherman, and representatives from an organic tea company and a local whole-grain pasta company.

To support this education, the Sustainable Food Program added a lending library with books and cookbooks focused on healthy and sustainable food. Located in Arrillaga Family Dining Commons, the lending library is open to the Stanford community whenever the dining hall is open. Stanford Dining is excited to continue and expand the Know Your Food series next year.
